MAY 5, 2018 - - GREATER OMAHA AREA BOWLING ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING!


GOABA Annual Meeting brought together 27 current Board Members, Director Candidates and guests. Reports were heard from the Committees: Audit/Budget/Finance; BVL; Hall of Fame; HOF Fundraiser; Lane Certification; Legislative; Membership; Nominating; Tournaments; Youth and Awards.

July 31, 2018 the Board will say farewell to five valuable Board Members. Together they compile over 200 years of dedication through the ABC and WIBC into the USBC. Thank you to Cheryl Coulson, Eileen Crinklaw, Jeri Fleming, Tom Kelley Sr. and Ted Baer.

Legislative action reduced the number of Board Vice Presidents from two to one.

John Haney will be the Vice President and new Director election will add Shawn Jackson, Scott McPheeters, Randy Moreno and Joan Wallace to the Board beginning Aug 1, 2018 for two year terms.

Delegates were elected to represent the Omaha Association at the Nebraska State Annual Meeting and the 2019 USBC Convention in Las Vegas.

Approval was given to establish an Association ADVISORY PANEL-VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE. Individuals who may not be able to commit to the Association as a Director but have the desire to be involved and to assist the Board by providing valuable input from bowlers, help with Association events and/or collaborate with Board members on a variety of topics, this opportunity is for YOU! The Association Manager has begun to compile the list. If you want to find out more or to volunteer, call 402-551-4007.


Honored at the Hall of Fame banquet this year were selectees:

Superior Performance category: Rob Bethel, Trish Manna, Curtis Prudhome and Otto Stennis

Meritorious Service: Ed Remar

Special awards were presented: Spirit of Courage:  Tim Mooney

Ted Melonis Memorial: Pete Reeves

VINTAGE BOWLING ATTIRE generated a great deal of conversation. Who would have thought two would show up in the same shirt???!!!


OMAHA CITY TOURNAMENT IS COMPLETE! Thank you to all participants and Chop's Bowling Center. We look forward to the Tournament experience again next season.  If you would like to offer any ideas for your City Tournament, share them with the Association Manager or any Board member.

Almost 10,000 awards have been issued to bowlers for scores bowled in certified competition since this season began.  One of the perks of your bowling membership. The following list are awards turned in by center management and league secretaries.

Awards will be monitored as the season progresses. Adjustments may be made to accommodate stock on hand at the discretion of the Association Manager.


HOURS OF OPERATION:
SUMMER HOURS IN EFFECT JUNE 1 TO AUGUST 1:
Monday - Thursday 9 am - 1:30 pm.


Thursday afternoons finds the Association Manager doing weekly
 PR ( Perfecting Relationships) visits to the bowling centers.

If the hours do not meet with your schedule, please contact the office for special arrangements.
